About Jaimie &
Radiant Birth Care

NICU Training Badge_edited.jpg

Hi, I’m Jaimie — doula, mom of three, and the heart behind Radiant Birth Care. I know firsthand how powerful it is to feel truly supported in birth. I also know what it’s like to wish someone had been there to guide me, to remind me that I could trust my body and my instincts. That’s what I offer you.

Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, your birth experience matters.

My approach is intuitive, educational, and grounded. I show up with warmth, a good sense of humor, and a deep respect for your choices. You don’t have to birth alone — I’ll be by your side.

After having my second baby spend time in the NICU, I know in my heart how intense that can feel for parents.  I have CEU NICU Navigation Training to better guide families through this experience.

Located in Richmond, California, I serve the greater East Bay Area: from San Francisco to Walnut Creek & Marin to Oakland-- with everywhere in between (El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley).

Why I Became a Doula

Hi, I'm Jaimie — mom of three, birth doula, and the heart behind Radiant Birth Care.

My three births were each completely different — and every single one shaped who I am today. I know firsthand what it feels like to need support in the birthing room, and I know what it feels like to have it. That experience changed everything for me.

I show up for families the way I wish someone had shown up for me — with warmth, humor, honesty, and deep respect for your choices. My approach is intuitive and educational, and I believe the right support doesn't take over your birth story — it helps you own it. And not just you — your partner too.

Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, your birth experience matters. You were made for this. I'm here to help you shine.

I'm based in Richmond, California and serve families across the greater Bay Area — San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, and Walnut Creek.

What Does a Doula Do?

Support When Your Need It

Doulas provide non-medical, continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. They help create a positive birth experience through pain management techniques (breathing, massage), labor coaching, and facilitating communication with medical staff.

According to an article from the American Pregnancy Association, Doulas are an incredible ace up parents' sleeves during the birth journey.  The article reports that, "studies have shown that having a doula as a member of the birth team decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40%, and requests for an epidural by 60%."

Doulas do not perform clinical or medical tasks, diagnose conditions, give medical advice, or make decisions for the client. They do not deliver the baby, check vaginal dilation, monitor fetal heart rates, or replace the role of medical staff or partners.

Prenatal Support

Preparing for Birth

We will meet about four times before labor to build a strong connection and talk through your birth preferences, any questions or concerns, and how I can best support you. At least one of these meetings will be in person. Together, we’ll explore coping strategies for pain and fatigue, discuss how you and your partner envision working as a team during labor, and tailor our approach to what feels right for you. Additional meetings can be scheduled as needed, and we’ll stay in regular contact by phone or email throughout your pregnancy.

Meet
the Nest

Birth and family support is better when it's done in community. The women you see here are my people — a cohort of perinatal professionals serving families across Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and San Francisco, all mentored through the Spark Program.

We come from different corners of the perinatal world — birth doulas, postpartum doulas, childbirth educators, and other family support professionals — but we share the same heart for families. We meet weekly for training, encouragement, and yes, a lot of friendship.

The Nest
Women I Trust With Your Family

In practical terms, this community means something important for you as a client: if I am ever unavailable to support you at your birth, I will refer you to one of these women with complete confidence.

They are not a backup plan — they are trusted colleagues I would send my own family to.
